An infinite God can give all of Himself to each of His children. He does not distribute Himself so that each may have a part but to each one He gives all of Himself as fully as if there were no others. A.W. Tozer
Around The Clubs
We have a number of flourishing clubs associated with All Saints and the purpose of this page is to tell you what they are doing and to invite you, should you so wish, to become involved. You will find details of who to contact on the Parish Contacts page. Just click on the link.

Saints Alive!
The Bradwell Pilgrimage
We didn’t have a formal meeting in July as it had been suggested that people might like to go to the Bradwell Pilgrimage this year. For a number of reasons it ended up with Peter and me going down to St Peter’s on the Wall as sole representatives - we did meet Peter and Cynthia Chignell down there however.
We came away early as we were due back in church for the rehearsal and evensong with the Lexden Choir but were very pleased that we were able to attend the pilgrimage.

RAMBLING GROUP
(Ten to Ten)
Programme for 2010
August 14th Saffron Walden
September 11th South Woodham Ferrers
October 9th TBA
November 13th Burnham on Crouch
December 11th TBA
This month’s ramble saw a small but select group making for Layer de la Haye and a circular walk to Fingringhoe. In view of the exceptionally hot weather, we decided to exclude the more exposed section of the route and set off through shady Friday Woods. Proceeding via lovely rolling countryside, we stopped for coffee at Abberton church that sits proudly high up on a hill with panoramic views of Abberton reservoir. Onwards via Abberton village, we arrived at Fingringhoe’s ‘Whalebone Inn’ for a welcome drink and a picnic lunch in the shade of what the book claims is ‘the oldest oak tree in Essex’. Returning along the attractive Roman River valley, we arrived back at our starting point tired and hot but happy!
Our next walk is on Saturday 14th August and will be around Saffron Walden. Meet as usual at 9.50 (ten to ten) at the old church hall, London Road. Everyone welcome.

All Saints Mothers Union
Thirty MU members and partners gathered at Headland Barn to hear Mr Cook from Wilkins of Tiptree talk about the firm. This was a fascinating and very interesting talk, filled with facts about the firm which was started in 1870 and is still producing delicious jams and preserves today. The firm received the royal warrant in 1911 which has been renewed by all monarchs since then. Mr Cook brought samples of jams and preserves which we all enjoyed. This was followed by refreshments of scones, jam, strawberries and cream all of which were equally enjoyed. It was a great way to spend a summers evening. As our hostess Mrs Speakman said ‘It was Jammy’.
We then had a glimpse of the beautiful curtains for the porch at All Saints’ which will welcome all comers These have been funded by the Mothers Union plus some generous anonymous donations. Maureen Clifford has made them expertly and the whole idea was devised by Anthea Speakman so we are very grateful to everyone who subscribed in any way. We now look forward to seeing them hanging in the Church after the work is finished
Our next meeting is in August when we have an outing to Mundon for tea and a look around the tiny church there, and then in September we meet again on the first Tuesday. Please contact Merie Keeble 856354 or Elaine Brown 853238 for more information. Lifts can always be arranged.
