Faith and Worship
Here is a little information about the services we hold here at All Saints.
Every Sunday morning we hold a said Holy Communion service at 8.00 am following the Book of Common Prayer format.
On the first Sunday of the month at 10 a.m. there is a Worship for All service. This is a simple service geared mainly to the children and young people. This service is followed by a said Holy Communion service (Common Worship) at 11.15 a.m.
Sundays in the middle of the month (2nd, 3rd and 4th) the 10am service is a choral Parish Eucharist with music taken from either Hymns Ancient and Modern (New Standard) or Mission Praise and accompanied by the organ. 'The Peace' takes place at the beginning of the service after which the children present are invited to retire to the D'Arcy Room for Junior Church where activities are organised for them. They return for the end of the service.
On these Sundays we hold Evensong at 6.30pm in the summer months and 4pm in the winter. These timings are governed by the commencement or cessation of British Summer Time.
The last Sunday of the month is similar to the above with the exception that, in addition to Junior Church, Freedom Footsteps meet in the vestry. This is organised activity for young people who have moved beyond the Junior Church and serves to prepare them for full adult worship.
Other than for special festivals and events, no services normally take place on Saturdays.
Morning Prayer at 8.30am and Evening Prayer at 5.30pm take place from Monday to Friday but not necessarily on all days. Details are given in our weekly 'Sunday Link' paper which can usually be found at the back of the church or on our Facebook page. These are both brief and simple said services geared to help start and finish your day.
A service of Holy Communion is held on Thursdays at 11am. This arrangement sometimes changes during the time of special festivals. Again, information can be found in the 'Sunday Link', on this website or Facebook page.
We would encourage you to regularly visit this website or take a copy of the 'Sunday Link' whenever you visit our church. This weekly news sheet will keep you up to date with all the latest information on our activities and services.
