The Reader Writes

Dear Church Family,

Didn't we have a spectacular autumn?   Trees and shrubs in such beautiful colours and plenty of berries everywhere.   My husband and I (very regal!!) went for a walk in the Promenade Park recently and found millions of crispy brown leaves lying around and I had great fun shuffling through them and kicking them in the air.   I've always liked to do that since I was a child.   A couple of years ago I did it in Windsor Great Park with my youngest grand-daughter who enjoyed herself so much she asked her dad if grandma and she could walk all the way home in the leaves;  three or four miles!!   I had to side with her daddy and say "No thank you" but I did enjoy myself on the Prom recently even though I had difficulty walking for two days afterwards.

Now we are into Advent, focusing on Jesus' Birthday and sadly the days have gone a bit dull and foggy which, I find, tends to lower the spirits a bit.   I try to remember on such days that somewhere up there behind all that fog and murk the sun is still shining.   Just like the love of God for usk.   Sometimes we may feel far away from that but never fear, He is still thereand will never stop loving us.
