All Saints' Church, Maldon

 PCC SECRETARY'S REPORT

We met in the D’Arcy room for our July meeting . Stephen informed us that he was going to commission the Eucharistic Ministers including new girl Sue Norrington. This should always be carried out when we have a new incumbent.

Sunshiners will resume in September in the D’Arcy room. Stephen has spoken to the regular communion congregation who are willing for their Thursday morning service start at 11.00am so that Sunshiners can commence at the new time of 9.15am.

The treasurer gave us grave news about our share of the quota going up, but I this I will leave that to him to report.

The fete made over £3000 which was good news and praise goes to the people who worked hard on that day to produce such a grand sum.

There are some old chairs in the crypt which Ken Russell is going to try and sell which will help the coffers.

Avril came into church during the week and was amazed to find that all the church doors were open. Ken will be speaking to the people concerned.

Bradwell Pilgrimage was very well attended by approximately 2300 people at what was a great success with a wonderful atmosphere; next year it will be held on 2nd July 2011.

A Gilbert and Sullivan Group will be invited to perform in the church next year, so once the date has been agreed we must encourage as many people as possible to come and enjoy this performance.  Enquiries are also being made to invite the London Gospel Choir to perform in church.

The Mead family would like a bench in memory of Kathleen Mead put in the church yard, this will be discussed by the Estates committee.

Alice Smith suggested that a prayer room be created in the D’Arcy on 30th October.  Andrea Dalton, the Schools Worker is very interested in being involved with this.

No PCC meeting in August.
